I think this an arena critical to understand fully.
That every dollar you make will be the result of someone convincing someone to take an action…and that all political change is about organizing large groups to take common action… That you have to sell your children and families on behaviors and attitudes that will improve their lives or bring all pleasure. Consider that you have to sell yourself on actions and potential results to achieve any success. And while you can always say that the work isn't worth the reward, its best to take responsibility for communications: every good salesman knows that his job is to find the part of the potential customer that resonates with the intent of their product or service, and stimulate that basic desire until it becomes an urge to action.
If you don't see the commonalities, it is a failure of YOUR perception. Seeing the connection between you and all other human beings, and ALWAYS beginning your communications there, with the commonalities. To be able to look at another human being, even one whose behavior and philosophy you abhor, requires a certain fearlessness, and deep understanding of Self.
